Two
first year journalism students have been selected to attend an afternoon of
talks and master classes with the BBC Sports Personality of the Year (SPOTY)
team at Mediacity, Salford.
Luke
Salvin-Hughes and Joe Diamond are now in with a chance to win a three week
placement as a runner on the programme, widely regarded as the most prestigious
and respected sports show on British television.
The
two, who were chosen after submitting a short report on their favourite Olympic
or Paralympic moment, could also be offered an opportunity to work with the BBC
Sport Outreach team in London.
The
masterclass event on November 1 will be hosted by BBC North's Outreach manager
Shelley Alexander, along with SPOTY executive editor Carl Doran and producer
Chris Grubb.
